Application of scanning acoustic microscopy for evaluation of MMP activation in multiple cancer cell lines with a smart probe

Background/aim: Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) play an important role in the evaluation of many cancer types; however, detection usually presents a challenge. Further assays for better understanding fundamental roles MMPs pathophysiology are still needed. We aimed to use activatable probe scanning acoustic microscopy (SAM) evaluate acoustically if can aid visualization effects vitro MMP activity. Materials and methods: applied impedance obtain maps cell line models HT1080, THP-1, SK-MEL-28 with without MMPSense 680 incubation. visually validated our results using confocal laser imaging. further analyzed on viabilities eliminate any artifacts.
